Indonesia runs one national registration site, jlptonline.or.id, and nothing else counts. The detail that catches people out is that account creation opens about a week before registration itself. If you wait until registration day to make an account, you are already behind.

For the July 2026 sitting, account creation opened on 31 March at 09:00 WIB, registration opened between 7 and 10 April depending on your city group, and everything closed on 15 April at 23:59 WIB. Expect a comparable pattern around September for the December exam.

Before you register
Registration is only valid through jlptonline.or.id. Language schools and agents can sit with you and help with the form, which is genuinely useful, but they cannot register you or reserve a seat. If anyone asks for payment outside the official portal, stop. Registration opening is staggered by city group, so your city's exact opening time may differ from a friend's.

Registration Steps
Create your account in the account-creation window
Accounts open roughly a week before registration does. Making yours during that week costs nothing and removes the slowest part of the process from the day that actually matters.
Check when your city group opens
Opening times are staggered across city groups rather than nationwide. In April 2026 the spread ran from the 7th to the 10th. Find your city's slot rather than assuming a single national start.
Enter your name exactly as printed on your KTP or passport
This sounds trivial and it is the most common avoidable problem. A name typed slightly differently from the ID you bring can stop you at the door on exam day.
Pilih kota dan level (choose city and level)
Each of the 16 cities has its own quota and a seat cannot be moved between them. Pick your level here too. There are no prerequisites, so registering for N3 without having sat N4 is perfectly normal.
Pay the biaya and keep the proof
Rp250,000 for N3 to N5, Rp350,000 for N1 and N2, plus the payment channel's admin charge. Until the admission ticket appears, that receipt is your only evidence the registration went through.
Collect your admission ticket
The admission ticket (ๅ้จ็ฅจ / juken-hyล) carries your venue, room and seat number and is issued shortly before the exam. Print it. Nobody is admitted without it.

Teacher's Tips
- Make the account during the account-creation window, not on registration day. This is the single highest-value thing on this page.
- Jakarta and Bandung fill fastest. With 16 cities now running, Tangerang, Bogor or Semarang are often realistic alternatives that people never think to check.
- December is usually a little easier than July for seats in the larger cities.
